Dr. Jimmy Maslai

General Practitioner

I am Dr. Jimmy Maslai, currently registered with the New Zealand Medical Council. It has been a great honour to be part of this esteemed team, and I am grateful for the continuous learning opportunities that come from working alongside such dedicated professionals at Glenview Medical Centre.

I am an International Medical Graduate who successfully cleared the Australian Medical Council Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) Examination and passed the New Zealand Registration Examination (NZREX Clinical) in 2013. Since then, I have gained extensive experience in various medical specialties, including Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, Cardiology, and General Medicine. My roles as a registrar at Auckland City Hospital, Whakatane Hospital, and most recently at Waikato Hospital, have provided me with a solid foundation and diverse clinical skills.

My journey through the New Zealand health care system has been incredibly rewarding, allowing me to grow both personally and professionally as I strive to provide the highest quality of care to my patients.

When I am not practicing medicine, I am a dedicated father to three kids—two boys and a girl—and happily married to a Clinical Nurse Specialist who works at Waikato Hospital. I prioritise environmental sustainability, which is why I have made significant investments in electric cars and solar energy for our home. Riding my generation 3 Suzuki Hayabusa, a powerful motorcycle with a 1,340cc in line-four-cylinder engine producing 188hp (140kW) and 150Nm (111lb ft) of torque, is my favourite pastime when I have some free time.
